Description[?]:
Quirites! The Republic is dying. Its values and virtues have been subverted by sectional conflict and identity politics, by religious extremism, capitalism, liberalism, luxury, and monarchism. Career politicians have turned themselves into long-serving tyrants, holding on to their power for decades. Religious fanatics have subverted piety and have turned it into a weapon against the Republic. The rich have abandoned their social responsibility and have become richer while the Republic suffers. The grievances of the poor have been instrumentalized by career politicians who care more about identity and "diversity" than about economic justice. Multiculturalism has brought in masses of mainlander immigrants who do not share the Republic's values and actively work to subvert it. Moral decadence has destroyed mos maiorum and replaced respect for tradition with selfishness and a lack of concern for decorum. These days everyone talks about rights, but nobody talks about duties. Instead of championing the Republic, politicians and voters celebrate democracy and monarchy. Anti-Republican cults commit acts of treason and terrorism and weaken the body of the Republic. Monarchists ally with Socialists to maintain their grip on power. Adultery and luxury abound, and those that show self-restraint are mocked and ridiculed rather than celebrated and rewarded. The Republic has joined anti-Republican foreign organizations, involving us in expensive foreign conflicts and renouncing its sovereignty. But the slow death of the Republic can be averted, and its virtues reaffirmed. The Republican Party stands before you today as the sole champion of mos maiorum. Standing above petty politics and the false left-right dichotomy, the Republican Party is committed to a detailed plan for the moral and political rejuvenation of the Republic and the return to Republican virtues. Quirites! If you value tradition and responsible liberty and hate tyranny of all kinds, whether monarchist, democratic or aristocratic, capitalist or socialist, then join our call for the revival of the Republic. If you choose to do so, the Republican Party will implement a wide-ranging restructuring of the moral and economic system of Selucia, based on these Republican virtues: I. Auctoritas A wise man once said that "he who has never learned to obey cannot be a good commander". We hold these words to be all the more true now that the Republic is governed by career politicians who have never in their life had to obey and who effectively become rulers for life, holding on to Consulship or Caesarship for decades. The alternation between ruling and being ruled is a core Republican principle but one that we have not followed for centuries. The Republican Party thus proposes the establishment of strict term limits, disallowing consecutive mandates for all high magistratures of the Republic. We also call for the reestablishment of Consular diarchy, eliminating the monarchist system of semi-presidentialism and returning the collegial Consuls as the equal co-rulers of the Republic and joint heads of state. II. Virtus Virtus is the virtue of manliness resulting from the pursuit of gloria for the benefit of the Republic. Instead of honoring virtus, our Republic now allows even the most selfish and cowardly to rule. We therefore call for restricting the right to vote and hold office to those that sacrifice their life for the Republic in either military or civilian service, with no prejudice on account of race, religion, or national origin. We also call for restricting immigration only to those that are willing to sacrifice themselves for the common good and the Republic. The Republican Party shall create a path to citizenship through the establishment of a Foreign Legion, while granting permanent residence rights to other immigrants based on their economic contributions to the Republic. All other immigrants, who came here to destroy the Republic while enjoying its economic benefits, shall be removed from our midst. III. Fides We call for a thorough crackdown on all crime and excess, the enforcement and respect of all contracts and the elimination of unfaithfulness. The Republican Party aims to criminalize adultery, incest, polygamy, gambling, public indecency, and recreational drug use, and we call for the introduction of corporal punishment as an alternative to incarceration and the adoption of the death penalty for severe crimes. IV. Pietas The Republican Party opposes all attacks on traditional piety and respect for religion. We therefore call for the suppression of all anti-republican cults and theocratic movements, including Orderism, Thallerism, or the Orgiastic Mysteries, while respecting the freedom of thought of all other citizens. V. Gravitas Luxury and selfishness have replaced self-restraint and dignity as the new values of the Republic. The Republican Party seeks a thorough restructuring of the economic and moral system of the Res Publica and a return to gravitas. We call for the elimination of luxury, finance capitalism, extreme inequality, and selfish competition and replacing them with a truly Socialist and Republican system under the rule of the Collegia (Guilds), which will eliminate class conflict and rivalry and create an economic system dedicated to the common good. The Republican Party also seeks to introduce strict sumptuary laws to restrain or eliminate luxury and extravagance and excessive expenditures on clothing, food, or furniture.
