| Valentina Vitali, AR: "Mr Speaker, we present this proposal because we are concerned by the risk that girls and women could be forced to surrogacy agreement due to their economic conditions. We want put an end to the "utherus commerce", we don't want see women sell their bodies, forced to 9 difficult months, just because they are in need. The surrogacy should be an act of altruism, to avoid any form of exploitation. Give birth to a life is not something around which create a business, it is really immoral and disrespectful for the dignity of all the women. Furthermore, this will allow to the women ready to offer their body to be further aware of what they are doing, not conditionate by the money, so to facilitate also the enforeability of the surrogacy. Thank you" |

| Message | Aurora Adorinda, AI Leader, We thank Ms Fenici for the support and want to add that most parties here support prostitution as a legal profession - not us - but for the sake of the argument I must say that in that "area of the economy" the chances of getting exploited are much higher than in surrogacy, because the "customers" are very different. Here, you are mostly dealing with families, were the woman sadly cannot bare the pregnancy herself, for whatever reason. In prostitution - we all know what type of customers there are, and yet I believe all parties voting in favor of this bill (maybe except the PRI) are supporting women to sell their bodies to lustful men, and are preventing them from selling to families in need. Disgraceful. |
