Message | Mr. Speaker, As a clarification, this bill actually proposes banning the killing of animals, which would by definition include animal slaughter. By passing this bill, you are in effect requiring all of Hutori (well most when excluding autonomous areas) to become vegetarian. We, the Ataraxian Confederation, are working on researching and developing synthetic meat that can be mass produced and replace having to slaughter animals. Unfortunately this technology is not yet ready and the best thing we can do is make the process of raising and slaughtering animals as peaceful and compassionate as possible. Society should also try to reduce their meat consumption in the mean time, however we do not think banning the killing animals outright is a suitable idea at this time. If you want to go after poaching, we recommend increasing use of surveillance in wildlife areas (in order to better detect the crimes) and or redirecting some policing resources towards that concern. It may also help to use the death penalty on poachers or expel them from the country as to prevent future offences from occurring. - Marvyn Warrick Ambassador of the Ataraxian Confederation |

Message | It is a violation of the peoples' rights to force them to become vegetarian. We also recommend increasing use of surveillance in wildlife areas (in order to better detect the crimes) and or redirecting some policing resources towards that concern. We do not support this bill. |
