Bill: Lex Publica Sanitas

Details

Voting deadline: November 4386

Description[?]:

It is important that our citizens notice that the government, or failing that the Senate, cares about their health. Having left the management of public health at the mercy of the big companies in the industry is something intolerable that puts at risk the quality of the service that can be offered to the citizens of our country. It should be the work of the rulers to offer their citizens a service that is the same for everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic conditions, to which they can go without being at risk simply because the industry is not nterested in helping because it does not benefit their own economy. Similarly, a full coverage of the health of citizens involves integrating them into sports, that all of them may have minimal access to be able to carry out activities that are beneficial to their health, and that the populism of our government has decided to sell to the big companies.

MessageSenators,

There are no big companies in Selucia, and certainly not monopolies. Our current laws strictly prohibit monopolies, especially in the medical industry, and no new ones can emerge because patenting has been abolished. Why then does In Marea seek to reintroduce a government monopoly on healthcare, in violation of our current laws? When the Senate agreed to sell most state-owned enterprises to their own employees we made them all owners and managers. Then why does In Marea wish to expropriate almost every doctor, nurse, and midwife in Selucia and force them to work for a monopoly? Under the current cooperative system doctors can form professional cooperatives that work to cut educational costs and insurance to cover medical practice, bringing the cost of health care down. Returning to government monopoly would see a return to more expensive and less efficient medicine. Health insurance co-ops are also of much higher quality than the previous system of socialized medicine because it is the consumer that owns them, guaranteeing that their healthcare provider is a quality provider. There is an alternative to both the public option and Big Pharma, and that is the system we have now.

MessageHow is an alternative for both option the total privatization of our healthcare system? The solution passes through the creation of the public healthcare system together with the creation of private clinics, as stated in our proposal. That is the alternataive.
