Message | The benefits of the current law are: 1. Increases the safety of animals. With registration required for the ownership of domestic animals those peoples convicted of animal cruelty will find it ever more difficult to own animals due to registration; 2. Lost animals can be more easily tracked and returned to their owners rather than being placed in expensive to operate pounds; 3. Guarantee of animal history. Not only can animal histories be tracked easier, but the ownership of animals can also be traced allowing for better guarantees on things such as breed quality etc. 4. Owner responsibility. If animals are found to be harming others in an area the responsibilty lays with the owner. With a national registration scheme the owner of any animal can be easily traced and those owners held accountable for their animals. |

Message | I have faith in the owners of the pets to ensure the safety of their pets without the government holding their hands. It's not the governments responsibilty, it's the peoples job. |
