Message | Monika Davidson, Progressive Republican Party Leader "Despite the divisions within the government, I am pleased that there is a majority in the Parliament to pass this important legislation. The government should only interfere in the private lives of citizens when it must, and it should not protect the powerful from the same scrutiny that any Talmorian could be subjected to. A free people and a free media are components of a free state, and we are proud to join our coalition partners in ATCOS in bringing our nation closer to that ideal." |
Date | 02:58:44, May 16, 2018 CET | From | Black Bloc | To | Debating the Cultural Liberty Act |
Message | Moniade Richland, Leader of the Black Bloc. Mr. Speaker By even taking a position like this on adultery... we might as well encourage it! At least before it was illegal if shamefully under-enforced... something that the Bloc had hoped to fix with the appointment of a Minister of Justice who has already served this country so ably. And to think that we'll not only do this, but in the name of a "free media" allow for anyone with a crazy theory to open up a new outlet and call it legitimate... it's something that I think is very much on the wrong path for this country. We'd have no problem with Article 3 were it to stand alone (and laugh quietly as the monarchists in the chamber still vote in favor, but I digress), but the Black Bloc will not stand with provisions that allow for the fusion of entertainment and information or that promote promiscuity and sexual immorality in this country. Never. |
