Bill: National Art Standard Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Animal Liberation Front

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 4398

Description[?]:

For too long we have watched so called 'art' humiliating our fellow beings. Our children were brainwashed by romanticized paintings of the slavery that is animal husbandry. What has become of this country that we depict the murder and capture of our fellow citizens in our museums? That we decorate our monuments with the skins of those who were defenseless! When will we stop filling our gardens with caricatures of noble wild beings?

The Animal Liberation Front calls for a national cultural canon where all references to the domination over non-human life-forms are wiped from the current canon. The government should hold under strict supervision that art that fails to match a strict set of criteria is labeled 'inappropriate' and may not be sold or displayed by any means! Only then we can restore pride and purity to our nation.

May the spirits of life guide you on your vote.

MessageMr. Speaker,

While we agree with the honourable gentleman of the ALF that there is art that reminisces of a bygone age, it is most certainly part of our history. We cannot whitewash our history, and we can certainly not ignore it. To remove any reference to it would be inappropriate and irresponsible. We need to have a conversation about this painful past and confront it heads on, not trying to hide it away.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We are in favour of Article 2 however, so if only that article would be brought to the floor, or be brought to the floor seperately, we would support that.

MessageMr speaker. May I ask, do you want to eradicate our history of being inhumane towards from national history? I call blasphemy! How can we neglect our acestors and their habits? Let us learn of our past and that we may find usefull truths.
We will not support tainting or removibg or rewritinf history

MessageMr. Speaker,

The EP understands the concerns of the ALF, but does not agree with the proposed solution. While there have been many wrongs in our history, it would be wrong to ignore that. Removing references to those periodes will lead to unconsciousness about the abuses in the past, which makes it easier for history to repeat itselves.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The LLP feels nothing for a government that decides what is art and what is not. Our national heritage should be preserved instead of being eredicated, even when we do not agree with what happend in the past. The LLP is in favour of article 2 of the bill and asked the ALF to bring the article seperately to the floor.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The Animal Liberation Front would take away people’s rights to express themselves freely and without prejudice through art. We cannot accept this. We will not accept this. No true liberal would ever be in favor of this kind of thought policing. We will vote against and urge anyone else to do so as well.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We are in favor of the museum funding article, however we are against the proposed sites and monuments article. We share the reasoning for this of those of the representatives of the other parties who have voiced opposition to it. We cannot support this bill in its current state.
