Description[?]:

The Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) is a party created in March 3398, that was created after the pre-existing social movement known as the 'Socialist Progressive Movement', decided to take matters in their own hand and stand for election. The PSP stands for leftist and progressive values, striving to create a socialist state that provides equality and possibility for everyone, while ensuring the future of Lodamun
======================================================

Positions

Foreign Affairs
The PSP find Foreign Affairs of utmost importance. Too long has Lodamun been isolationist and inward looking, and we want to change that. This includes the drive to seek accession to more international bodies and organizations that can improve the international standing of Lodamun. Furthermore we want Lodamun to take a stand against global poverty and further the global standard of living.

Internal Affairs:
Concerning internal affairs we believe both in the freedom of the individual, as well as the state being a guarantor of collective goods. Therefore we want to limit laws that impede individual freedoms (as exemplified by the 'Freedom of Body Act' we passed), while letting the state control important avenues such as providers of electricity, water and public transport, as everyone should have equal access to those.

Finance
Lodamun should be financially stable enough, but a deficit could be run when this is necessary for the national good.

Defence
We need a functioning military that is capable of defending Lodamun, but it should not be interventionist. Furthermore the PSP is against any investments in biological, chemical or nuclear warfare. We are also against internationally frowned upon military measures, such as land mines.

Justice:
Concerning Justice, the PSP believes in a system fully based on rehabilitation. While we understand the idea that people should be punished for their deeds, we do not believe just locking them up has any use. Therefore we focus on rehabilitation, so that convicts can once again become valued members of Lodamunese society. For those who committed the heaviest crimes and those with mental issues, we support a well-funded prolonged custody with access to psychiatrists.

Infrastructure and Transport:
We believe that the state plays a pivotal role in providing these services for its people. Therefore the PSP wants the government to control public transport and subsidize access to it, so anyone can make use of this service. Furthermore we hope that large investments in public transport will de-incentivize people to take the car, which will lead to less pollution.

Health and Social Service:
Health is a public service, to which each citizen has a right. Therefore we of the PSP believe in a fully nationalized health service with full and equal access for all its citizens. Furthermore we believe in the full coverage of both preventive birth control and abortion, to guarantee the free choice of women.

Education and Culture:
We believe the state should fund public schools and guarantee that all people have access to quality education. Therefore we believe in a strong schooling system and a national curriculum that is given in all schools, and prepares students for participating in Lodamunese society.

Food and Agriculture
We believe that food standards should be guaranteed by the government and that output should be controlled by quota's. as to not flood the market nor damage natural resources.

Environment and Tourism
The PSP is strong on environmental protections. We acknowledge the damage that humans do in the way of carbon emissions, and see the duty of government to cut carbon emissions effectively and quickly.

On Tourism, we believe that an open and welcoming attitude and accessible borders promote tourism, and believe in a structured and strong tourism sector due to the beauty of Lodamun, as long as we keep it that way.

Trade and Industry

the PSP believes in controlled trade, where the Presidium can take measures against excesses of any sort. However, we are not unnecessarily protectionist, and are willing to enter agreements that limit trade barriers.

We believe in our lodamunese industry, and that they can provide for many. But also here we need to limit the excesses, to combat climate change.
