Bill: Military Honor
Details
Submitted by[?]: Christian Democrats
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2199
Description[?]:
"The common parties of the assembly are purporting to 'end discrimination' in the military by letting homosexuals serve openly and women get shot. Madness! Discrimination is not all bad. I'd rather get pulled from a fire by a man rather than a woman who didn't meet the same standards. I say damn their bill, and let them chew on this one." -- Michael Rix, Minister for Education and Culture (CD) |

Message | This was a fast change. And this is also unwanted and unneeded change. Why do women have no place in the miliatary? Wouldn't you rather the secretarial work be done by a woman, than a strapping man capabale of defending our land? Remember, all positions relating to the military must be done by the military. No civilivan is allowed to do many non-combat positions including the secretarial, clerical, mechanical, and even food services positions. Our military is small as it is. Let's keep the men where they are needed, out near the front, not behind a desk pushing papers. We simply cannot accept the first article. We are against descrimination by Creed, Gender, Race, or sexual orientation. To have the government openly descriminate is a horror to itself and onto God. Remember our savior welcomed all, even the lepers, tax collectors, and sinners. You wish to reject them out of hand. What kind of Christian are you? Leave the homosexuals alone. Their judgement will come from the entity that judges everyone. (incidentally, during the last prayer sessions, I could swear that I heard him say how great our cheese is) |

Message | "Our Lord welcomed the lepers, but I doubt He would've let them near the assault rifles. Or the cheese. I intend to vote yes on this bill." -- Tam Dee, Minister of Food and Agriculture (CD) |

Message | Considering they did not have assault rifles at that time that's pretty darn funny. The difference between lepers and homosexuals are one of them has sores covered large portions of their body that make them a health risk, and 2. they're typically in so much pain that they can't shoot straight. homosexuals have neither. The argument that homosexuals are a distraction towards the "regular working men" shows how much hatred has grown in this country. It simply will not do. |

Message | ". . . but not thy fellow soldier in anything other than a brotherly fashion! Of course, removing all homosexuals and women from the military ought to remove most of the problems sexual relations cause in the armed forces." -- Dr. Michael Rix, Minister for Education and Culture (CD) |

Message | ...and removing homosexuals and women from business, government, and everywhere else would solve all the problems sexual relations cause in all those places. |

Message | This bill is in response to the oppositions attempt to openly accept gays and allow women to serve in combat, defeated recently. It has the appeal of strengthening the religious vision of what our country should be, and given the nature of the majority of our country, my party will be voting for this bill, though we respect the opposition of this bill. |
