Bill: The End Needless Dependency and Invigorate the National Government Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Progressives
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 4399
Description[?]:
The End Needless Dependency and Invigorate the National Government Act (or E.N.D.I.N.G. Act) seeks to cut expenses and incentivize an active worker participation in the economy by lowering the national income and making limiting the time people can depend on it. This way, workers currently sitting at home not participating in our economy will have to find work and can no longer profit of the government for an unlimited time. Even we in the Liberal Party can sympathize with people who’ve been laid off and need some time to get back to work, but this should not be a potentially permanent state of affairs. Passing this bill will decrease government spending and increase the productivity of our nation, giving our economy a much-needed boost. |

Message | Mr Speaker, The Party for Liberation of the People has decided they will support this bill on a condition, that this basic subsistence income does only provides basic sustance, such as housing and/or food. A general basic income will put a lot of stress on our budget and will promote passive behaviour for our population. It needn't be that someone can get all the money they need from the government and not work. Money needs to come from somewhere. This is only supported by PLP if the bill will only give basic income for a very short amount of time Just enough to get by while in between jobs. Sincerely Hugo Yung, Health and Social Services, PLP |

Message | Mr Speaker, We are here at the grace of the people of Lodamun. To rob them from their basic dignity is denegrating and not worth the time of any person in this presidium. Sophie Hill Internal Affairs Spokesperson PSP |

Message | Mr. Speaker, seems to us that it is clear that this bill shouldn't even be sent to vote. What I have heared during the last few days makes me feel as if the Presidium is being infiltrated by traitors, wanting nothing else but to undermine the State and its authority. Andreij Gorky LNC Representative |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Disregarding the slanderous conjecture that any traitors are to be found anywhere in the Presidium, the Liberal Progressives merely want to state that, when offered the opportunity of letting citizens participate more in society and at the same time cutting down on the expenses of our government, multiple parties have expressed opinions preferring our citizens to pay higher taxes to maintain a wasteful practice to letting people develop themselves through work. The Liberal Progressives will bring this bill to the floor in due time, to show the taxpayer that, rather than offering tax cuts and decreasing spending, the other parties want to cultivate generations of layabouts in our country. Bridgett Chester, Spokesperson Health and Social Services, Liberal Progressives |
