| The current law in Dunkuk is a law prosecuting those opposed to violence and combat. We at the Republican Reform movement believe that those who refuse to fight should not be prosecuted for not wanting to take another man's life. Therefore, we proposed amending the current law to take allow conscientious objectors to avoid combatant military service in favour of non-combatant roles - allowing them to still serve their country whilst not having to participate in direct combat. We hope the members of the Senate will agree that this act will allow us to move forward as a society. |

Proposal[?] to change The government's policy towards civilians who conscientiously object to being required to perform military service (if applicable).
Old value:: It is a criminal offence to refuse to perform military service.
Current: Conscientious objectors are exempted.
Proposed: Conscientious objectors can be exempted from combatant roles, but not from non-combatant roles.

| Message | OOC: regarding posts on forum every IC paper is propaganda tbh. How many times have I seen "evil dankuk this, evil dankuk that" from countries I have never heard of half the time and are clear across the world I'm some remote place(usually socialist/communist countries which of course never abuse their own citizens despite the 90 million dead in 20th century by communist countries in reality). Let's not even get started on various countries that godmod themselves into global superpowers, or how "democratic" some countries report themselves despite their international behavior towards other countries being rather atrocious. Considering that IC propaganda paper is well within reasonable. You quit on your own Initiative, I tried to reason with you and even offered a last minute olive branch(which you rejected because you wanted only your way). I will say I wasn't unhappy when you did leave though as it meant the constant disputes were over. You only 'suggested' it after it was made apparent that doing otherwise would get you into trouble. Suffice to say, I would rather not get into another disagreement with you as I see no fruitful end and prefer if we left each other alone and moved on. |
