Messagea "religious life ethic", your party should say. This is not consistent, and we have already defended why it was important to keep current laws as they are. We have no right to rule whether someone diagnosed with a terminal disease, for example, shall keep living a life they are not going to actually "live", as they will need to be under permanent treatment and care.

Regarding abortions, it has been said multiple times: making abortions illegal will not stop them happening. What we are currently protecting is the life of women and allowing them to decide over their own bodies.

Life is life and should be respected in all of its forms and all of its ways. Allowing Euthanasia and abortion inherently destroy life and the law should be changed to reflect that.

MessageSenators,

We have made our position on abortion clear: it should be restricted, but only for the rich. The poor should continue to be allowed access to abortion, as otherwise we see the perpetuation of poverty and its feminization, and the resulting social and moral ills outweigh the moral benefit of saving unborn children's lives.

We would support a ban on euthanasia however, but under less restrictive conditions than the ones proposed by Fr. Ambrose.

MessageSenators,

To respond to Senatrix Treania's accusation, we actually agree that this is indeed a religiously-inspired proposal. But unlike her we find no fault with that. Arguments originating from religious or spiritual convictions are not the same as mere personal preferences. They are deeply held beliefs, which should be allowed and welcomed to participate in the public debate. To ask a devout Hosian to participate in politics only as long as he leaves his Hosianism at the door of his home is to ask him not to participate in politics, or at least not as his true self.

And when she claims whether we have no right to rule whether patients have the right to physician-assisted suicide, she invalidates current laws. They actually state that there is such a right. This is not something one can be neutral on, and to insist that it is possible is just liberal delusion. Euthanasia either is moral or it is not. By making it legal the Republic argues that it is moral. We cannot then claim that we are actually neutral on this matter. Liberals should take ownership of their own demands and stop arguing they are neutral. One can certainly make the argument that euthanasia is morally right, and that is a respectable position to hold. But not all citizens agree on that, and by requiring that those that have religious or spiritual objections to euthanasia to not bring them into debate is to require them not to debate at all. Which is what kills Republics.

MessageThe Rexist Party shall not be found in agreeance with this bill. Euthanasia is a right, and abortions should be allowed in medical emergencies.
