MessageBonaparte Desrosiers, Congress of the Left:

Mr. Speaker,

I hope that the National Democratic Party- or even the Progressive Republicans- would be willing to share with us the deals made behind this grand coalition.

I will be more than happy to tell this body that the NDP came to the Congress of the Left offering a coalition for welfare reform- to expand it and ensure people are covered. That the NDP promised to expand labor rights. That the NDP promised common-sense reform. All of these things are clearly needed in Talmoria, and yet now we're seeing the regressive PRP being offered spots in Government.

This sort of dealing and talking out of two sides of one's mouth is precisely what is NOT needed in Government, and I hope that the NDP comes clean on what it exactly wants and sees the next few years... rather than just "oh, I want to be in power hooray." Already the NDP's allies are saying that this is a great win for the NDP: http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?p=134423#p134423 WITHOUT saying a thing about what the NDP stands for. I guess winning.

MessagePrime Minister Ebou Kouyaté,

Mr. Desrosiers,

The NDP had hoped to work with the Congress of the Left on various issues that the NDP considers to be important. However, we were unable to form a majority coalition. The PRP has voiced support for an agenda of moderate welfare reforms and regulatory measures, which we find agreeable. Instead of being tied to a particular ideology, the NDP prefers to pursue pragmatic solutions to issues. We hope that the Congress of the Left is still willing to work with the NDP on areas of mutual agreement.
