Message | Mr. Speaker, If the Government is so keen on lowering taxes on corporations, maybe they'll be keen on lowering taxes on ACTUAL People. This bill would eliminate the essential goods tax, which produced 25.5B HLR last year... far more than than the 17B HLR that came from the corporate tax. If the government cares so much about using our budget surplus, is the elimination of a the essential goods tax not a better use of that surplus?! The New Liberals once proposed the essential goods tax to offset Royalist cuts to the corporate and income taxes. We will gladly see it go away - but we hope that the government's propensity to cut taxes no matter what won't lead us all to financial ruin. Message | Mr Speaker, Our tax plan will create many good paying jobs which will mean less Hutorians will be struggling to put food on the table and relying on government assistance to get by. With our plan to cut the corporate tax, cutting the essential goods tax at this time just is not affordable. It will leave us with a deficit which is something this government refuses to do. We would love to see an elimination of the essential goods tax, and plan to do it at a later date. But now is just not the time. Dylan Jourdain MP for Fairview Prosperity Minister of Finance |

When all is orderly, he does not forget that disorder may come. Thus his person is not endangered, and his States and all their clans are preserved." - Confucius |
