Bill: Child Protection Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: National-Socialist Lodamun Workers Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 4422

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

Today I was shocked to find that this government allows the abortion of unborn children no matter how far in there development they are. The current law would allow the mother, who could only be one week away from giving birth to her child, to end the life of the child whenever she wants.

We propose the following:
Abortions will only be allowed during the first and second trimester of pregnancy.

This will protect the life of the child that is viable outside of the mother's body while at the same time giving the mother the freedom to end a pregnancy.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The PSP believes in our current abortion laws, for freedom of the mother and in the best intentions of the child. We will vote against this law.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Abortion is a complicated issue. But being able to abort up to the end of the pregnancy is ethically wrong. If it can survive outside the womb it is no longer an abortion, it is either a forced birth or the killing of a child. How can that be the best intentions for the child?

With viability outside the womb being after the second trimester we believe it is only right to set the limit of abortion to that time.

We will be voting in favour.
