Details

Submitted by[?]: Lodamun Labour Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4428

Description[?]:

Members of the Presidium,

Our military needs a boost. The PSP-LLP cabinet invested more in our military, our coalition with the PSP and SHP renewed the fleet of Lodamun and expanded the capabilities of the Lodamun Armed Forces. Now the LLP wants to go a step futher.

1. The LLP wants to allow for the use of chemical weapons and nuclear weapons.
2. The LLP wants to allow for the use of landmines.
3. The LLP wants to expand National Service to include military service.
4. The LLP wants to reinstate paramilitary groups, under regulation of the central government.
5. The LLP wants to urge the cabinet to invest 1 billion LOD more in the military. (RP Law)
5. The LLP wants to urge the cabinet to continue the Army Modernization Act and come up with a plan to modernize the army and air forces. (RP Law)

MessageMr Speaker,

The Conservative Democrats do not favor national service, nor do we favor using nuclear or biological weapons for any reason. As such we will vote against these proposals in their current form.

MessageMr Speaker,

The Republicans can happily support these measures. Following our defeat on measures such as these we pursued more moderate measures but now that the LLP have rediscovered their pro-military instincts we are happy to accommodate unbridled militarism.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The Liberal Progressives are not a militarist party, and have never been, but if this bill reaches a majority, we accept this, where do the LLP suggest we take the 1 billion LOD from to invest in the military, what area of government can be cut to make room for this spending?

Minister of Finance

MessageMr. Speaker,

It is very easy where is money comes from, if the cabinet does away with the suggested tax decrease and spending cuts there will be plenty of room.

Random fact: Particracy allows you to establish an unelected head of state like a monarch or a president-for-life, but doing this is a bit of a process. First elect a candidate with the name "." to the Head of State position. Then change your law on the "Structure of the executive branch" to "The head of state is hereditary and symbolic; the head of government chairs the cabinet" and change the "formal title of the head of state" to how you want the new head of state's title and name to appear (eg. King Percy XVI).
