Message | Senators, Our current legislation on immigration includes an amendment to the Nationality Law by requiring Permanent Residents to serve in the Armed Forces or in alternative civilian service prior to being granted citizenship. We would be open to removing that requirement and only require Permanent Residents to prove their command of the Selucian language, provided that after being granted citizenship they will continue to be required to undergo military or civilian service, just like all other citizens. Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
