Bill: Lex Stamas de Siluas

Details

Submitted by[?]: Clara Aurora - COSIRA

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4440

Description[?]:

That the government allows private companies to be in charge of managing our forests is, at least, a shame. As state and regional heritage, it should be in the best interests of the government to take care of our forest lands, and ensure that they suffer the least possible damage. You can not trust private companies to manage it, because many times their intentions do not go beyond the purely commercial purposes.

MessageSenators,

The private companies that Minister Stamas is so angry against are foresting cooperatives, owned and managed by their own members. Cooperatives in the forestry industry generate financial success at lower harvest intensity, an achievement that would be hard to replicate under state- or local government-managed forestry.

MessageRegional governments shall know better how to handle with their own forests, and not just basing our legislation in merely economic plans. Cooperatives are usually focused in their economic benefits, but most of the time forget about our environment.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically
