MessageMr. Speaker,

It is the opinion of this Foreign Ministry that the ratification of this treaty may open the doors to the creation of a free port for our Naval forces in Keymon, a strategic port in the Maddog Sea. We also expect that ratification of this treaty will result in Keymon's ratification of the Crown Dependency Treaty, thereby increasing free trade between two of the most active ports in Terra.

We hope our friends in government and across the aisle will support this position.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I can now confirm that after tough negotiations, should we ratify this treaty, Keymon will allow our naval forces to use the island as a refueling station, AND they will recognize the Crown Dependency under international law.

This is a major win for the Commonwealth in diplomatic negotiations, and I entreat all members of this house to vote in favor of this ratification.

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
