Message | Mr/Madam Speaker, Despite the current law being good, it can be better. By prohibiting the sale of fireworks to the general public, thousands upon thousands of animals across Kalistan will be spared the needless torment that they face throughout the year. I do not doubt the economic and social benefits that fireworks can bring, which is precisely why this Act will allow licensed events by professionals which will only occur at very specific times during the year. I urge all across this Assembly to support this bill for the animals, and indeed a number of humans, of this country. |

Message | Mr/Madam Speaker, It is true that fireworks cause much harm to the environment, particularly the biotic elements wherein animals are worst hit. It is also true that unregulated firework(s) manufacture and its usage pollutes the atmosphere and introduces harmful gases like Carbon Monoxide, Sulphur Dioxide (in some cases) and so on. Our party does not deem the general populace adept to/at the proper usage of fireworks due to lack of awareness. Trained professionals would be the best choice. They know how to operate fireworks(especially flowers, rockets, spinners) and can, through their shows, increase the awareness of the populace, and enlighten Kalistanis on/about atmospheric pollution. Hence, echoing the sentiments of the Freedom Party, we strongly support this bill. Liberty may be sometimes restricted in a minor fashion to adhere common good(s) Jacob Dormunn |
