HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY THE SON OF HEAVEN, by and with the advice and consent of the Grand Assembly of Indrala, enacts as follows:

SECTION ONE: SHORT TITLE

(1.1) This Act may be cited as the Modern Postal Services Act.

SECTION TWO: INCORPORATION

(2.1) There is hereby established a corporation to be called the Imperial Post Corporation (IPC).
(2.2) The institution established under LP-705: Indrala Post Act, known as "Indrala Post" is henceforth dissolved.

SECTION THREE: MANDATE

(3.1) The IPC shall be mandated to:
(3.1.a) to establish and operate a postal service for the collection, transmission and delivery of messages, information, funds and goods both within Indrala and between Indrala and places outside Indrala;
(3.1.b) to manufacture and provide such products and to provide such services as are, in the opinion of the Corporation, necessary or incidental to the postal service provided by the Corporation; and
(3.1.c) to operate a postal banking service accessible to all Indralans.

SECTION FOUR: GOVERNANCE

(4.1) There shall be a Board of Directors of the Corporation consisting of the Chairperson, the President and nine other directors appointed as follows;
(4.2) Each director, other than the Chairperson and the President, shall be appointed by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, to hold office during pleasure for a term not exceeding four years that will ensure, as far as possible, the expiration in any one year of the terms of office of not more than one half of the directors.
