Bill: HS-5: No Death Penalty Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hutori Socialists

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 4499

Description[?]:

Mr Speaker,

I seek to present the No Death Penalty Act on behalf of the Hutori Socialists. In a contemporary, advanced nation such as ours, it comes as a shock that we *still* have the death penalty. The death penalty is dangerous and gives the state the god-like power to determine life and death. This is an incredible overreach of power and so, therefore, we propose that it be abolished and banned in its entirety.

MessageMr Speaker,

As it has been more than 12 months since the presentation of this bill and I believe that all parties have had sufficient time to deliberate its clauses, I will now proceed the vote on the No Death Penalty Act.
