MessageWe oppose: There is no reason to believe that more seats equals better representation. As t doesn't matter if 50 or 250 seats are given to each District, relative power is still the same after election. 25% of 50 is just as powerful as 25% of 250 when we can't divide how our seats vote. So at the end of the day, since just having more representatives in Government does not equal a change in relative power for the Parties who earn them, we should focus on how to eliminate wasted votes as much as possible, while trying to keep the Government as responsive to the needs of the people. The sweet spot turns out to be between 175 and 275. We picked 275 over 250 because it is an odd number and the only way we end up with ties is in the case of abstentions, which are then counted as no's anyway.

Random fact: Voters have an extra appreciation for bills that actually get passed, so if you want to maximally take profit from your votes, make sure you compromise with others.
