Message | Common sense policy. It must be said that taxation is the cost for civilisation, and to see our biggest businesses go without paying their fair share unduly hurts us as a nation. I support this measure and invite others to do so as well. John Huxley Leader of the Liberal Party |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Perhaps the government will say that they are fiscally responsible by voting against a corporate tax. Perhaps they will say that a corporate tax would damage business and lead to multinational corporations leaving the country for our neighbours - it won't, and our neighbours' economic illiteracy is no excuse for this government's. But it's much more likely that they will stay as silent as always. The only time they seem to bother with discussion is when the pretender's position is threatened. The Rt Hon. John Adderley MID Leader of the Opposition (OOC: corporate tax was, under Thatcher, 34% at its lowest, so) |

Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn |
