MessageThis bill was presented to the Ethics Committee given that there is no specific Committee to treat this matter. However, a special hearing was held with the Education and Labor, Homeland Security and Internal Affairs, Oversight and Reform and Judiciary Committees, in compliance with House Procedural Rules stated by the House Administration Committee, to get a better sense of what this bill could treat, impact and change. It was brought to our attention that the freedom of the press is the bedrock of our nation and that, even if it's unethical to invade the lives of public figures, certain rights and faculties may be violated in function of common good. For these reasons, we voted the bill into the floor. Vote as you see fit.
