Bill: Cabinet Proposal of August 4569

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 4570

Description[?]:

In the past month, following the election, a government was almost formed.
On one hand we had the Patriots Party, the Right Coalition, Luthori First and White Rose.
On the other hand, we had us the Communists and the Social Democrats.
It was in fact up to the Neoliberal party to chose which coaliton they are going to side with. We proposed a center-left government, to counter the extreme right. However, our colleagues from the Libertarian section of the Communist Party called a snap election, which passed. We won seats and are happy with that. But the thing is still here and the Neoliberal Party still has to chose.
We see the extreme right has proposed its coalition, we propose ours, let's see what our neoliberal colleagues decide.
We recall the program we want to achieve in this legislature with the neoliberal party :
-Improving access to quality healthcare
-Strenghtening our environmental laws
-Shifting the budget towards more social spending and less military spending
-Granting more civil rights so that everyone can feel happy

It's up to you, neoliberal colleagues.

MessageWhy do you call the Neoliberals your colleagues? Your Communist Party was the one that kicked them out of a coalition because you had a majority...right? So based on this why would they have any trust with Communists since you somehow think communism is ok.

MessageBecause this is a formality and as democratic parties we need to show respect to our colleagues. However, the Right Coalition, which should be renamed as the "Far-right Coalition" doesn't deserve our respect due to its condescending tone. Since it is your wish, you are not more "colleagues" but "members" of the RC.

MessageMr Speaker,

We will abstain on this proposal. "Improving access to quality healthcare" sounds like nothing more than over-regulation and expense. "Strengthening our environmental laws" merely sounds like more punitive taxes that will in fact go absolutely no where, and only act as an excuse for the government to steal more of our money. "Shifting the budget towards more social spending and less military spending" essentially goes directly against our platform, as we want a balanced but small budget all around. Our only area of agreement really has been social values, and even those are not universally agreed between our two factions. For now I regret to inform the legislature we must abstain on this proposal.
