Message | Mr speaker, This proposal would technically allow a mother to terminate a pregnancy within days before birth, at a time when the baby would be functional outside the womb. The ending life of equal complexity outside the womb is murder, and so this proposal dangerously lacks moral justification. We strongly resent the apparent 'progress' of this bill which is advocating government funded murder and is utterly disgraceful. Dr James Kottler NDWP Spokesman for Health |

Message | Mr. Speaker, I understand the concerns of my collegue about the termination fo pregnancy day before birth. However, I must adress the fact that this situation is extremely unlikely to ever occur under this new law and would certainly not be consider legal. You seem, if indeed the law does state that abortion is allow during the entire course of pregnancy, no doctor would ever accept to perform an abortion when the pregnancy is that much advance. In fact, doing so would be consider a malpractice form thetreating doctor. This mean that such case of abortion would be likely to only happen in case of medical emergency. -Rebecca Gillibrand) Chairman of the National Progress Party |
