Description[?]:
The Nationalist Democratic Workers Party propose a new taxation system to ensure for greater government revenues to allow for further investment into the public sector. This tax proposal reduces taxes for the vast majority of hutorian citizens. The aim is to allow for all members of society to make a contribution to public services, no matter their salary. - The new rate of 5% (Contributory rate) will give people a feeling of supporting their country and public services. - We have brought more people into tax at a very low rate of 5%. The idea is that through this extra revenue, we will invest into a more efficient, highly reformed employment system that will allow more people to be in jobs at higher rates of pay. This tax system offers a encouragement to workers to seek work that matches their skills rather than settle for other work. - the upper threshold of 10% has been increased to earners earning 22000 HLR which brings many out of the upper rate of tax - Those who may struggle to pay this new tax, will be able to claim back this income through low earner welfare. |

Message | Mr Speaker, The notion that this is a tax break for Hutorians is simply false. This would see government revenue increase by 11 billion HLR. Also Mr Speaker currently Hutorians earning under 20,000 HLR do not have to pay income tax. This allows for low income earners to get ahead and keep more of their hard earned money in their pocket. Under this new tax scheme, someone earning 19,000 HLR would have to pay 950 HLR in income tax every year. This may not seem like much to the socialist elites across the aisle, but to many families that is the difference between putting food on the table or paying the light bill. Conservatives will always stand up for the working class. We believe in lowering taxes so ALL Hutorians can get ahead, they believe in taxing and spending other people's hard earned money. Message | Mr speaker, We have outlined how such concerns would be dealt with to ensure this proposal to have a positive impact. The Conservatives have essentially lied in their allegations that we believe in 'taxing'. This is simply untrue. We have proposed to lower the rate of tax for the vast majority of citizens. The essence of our proposal is simple. Many of the workers earning under 20 000 HLR are heavily reliant on public services, and it is right that everyone makes a contribution however big or small that may be. Extra funding will be used to provide good salaried employment opportunities for such workers in both public and private sector. This is how we create a better Hutori. Harvey Maywood, Minister of Finance & Deputy Secretary of the NDWP |
