Bill: Public Housing and Eminent Domain
Details
Submitted by[?]: Black Militant Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2210
Description[?]:
The state spends 5,000,000,000 BDR on infastructure and transportation. The budget would probably go down if the government let all housing be privatized but let rent be subsidized for low income households. That way we are helping the economy and supporting people the right to own property without government interference. The government should also not be allowed to seize property. Article 9:1 of the consttitution states that political parties shall ensure that the will of the people prevails. If the government takes the people's property than the government's will prevails, not the people's. It may not be a violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights but Article 17:2 does say no one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property. So we should not let government take over private property. |
