| However proud one is of the Federal Union of Gaduridos, one cannot deny a simple fact - among the players on the world stage, we are an economic, military, and technological backwater. For years, the Gaduri Left has pushed us to this position, but they exist no longer. Should this Federal Union remain weak, we are to blame. As such, I propose a program of modernization and militarization, and charge the government with its implementation. Economically, I call for increased cooperation with Gaduri businesses. The Gaduri Technology industry is one that is filled with potential - I charge the government with helping them in whatever way they can. Militarily, I would call for a program to increase the size of the Gaduri military to 5 million active personnel. I call for the creation of a Gaduri Carrier Task Group, to protect our island nation. Our focus should be on the navy and air force for grand operations, for we are an island nation, but with local trained citizenry to act as defense should the enemy ever reach our shores. Technologically, I call for the development of fusion power. When I was but a child, legislation had already been passed to make fusion power possible. Why then haven't we begun its development? So ask I, and so asks every Gaduri Patriot. The program must begin. A modernization program is what we need, and what I call for. I look forward to the suggestions of the other parties as well.
