Bill: United Democrats Cabinet Negotiations

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialist Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 4663

Description[?]:

This election showed us that there are now two "blocs" in this parliament. One with the HLC, supported by the SDP and the AUP.
The other is composed of the other parties : CPL, WR, WPL, ICP, PP. Altough there are left-wing to far-right parties in the second block, at least it is not so extreme and anti-democratic than the first one.
We propose a union of the first bloc with a 5-parties cabinet and this program.

Program:
-Since there are two "blocs", the parties that participate in the government should support the candidate against the HLC in the second round of the imperatorian election, in that case Philip Hopkins (CPL). Another solution is a common candidate by the 5-parties like the Patriots Party candidate (since it's a center party) that would receive the support of all the United Democrats against "Pope" William I.

HOME AFFAIRS and CIVIL RIGHTS:
-A civilian police force is in place and the military may be called in to help in serious emergencies.
-Prostitution is legal and a recognized profession.
-Sexually explicit material is not allowed, but nudity that is not sexually explicit is (instead of prohibited on the TV).
-Teacher-led prayers in schools are encouraged (instead of mandatory).
-Adultery is illegal, but not prosecuted.
-Create a Center against discrimination that will be privately owned and subsidized by the government to prevent discrimination based on religion, race or sexual orientation. The center will help victims of discrimination to file a complaint and inform the public about the negative consequences of discrimination. Funding: 40 millions LPD/year
-Close all fundamentalist churches and places of worship that promote intolerance and hate based on religious faith.

HEALTH:
-Unless otherwise stated, consent is assumed (Organ Donation)
-All naturally occurring drugs are legal.
-Recreational drugs sales are handled by private foundations which are heavily regulated by the government.

ECONOMY:
-Decrease defnese spending by 5 billions LPD and increase social spending by 5 billions LPD

FOREIGN AFFAIRS:
-The nation imposes minimal border controls on visitors, with cursory security checks, to confirm visitor identities.

EDUCATION:
-The government fully subsidizes tuition.

ECOLOGY:
-The government is responsible for waste disposal.

MessageMr Speaker,
We agree with the proposals. With regards the common candidate I believe we should make a rotating pact in which we all join together to support a candidate in each election vs the HLC.

MessageMr Speaker,
We have had our disagreement with the CPL, but we recognize the importance of a democratic bloc, so we will support this "bloc" together with this program.

MessageMr Speaker,

We refuse to back a CPL Imperator.

We reject waste disposal and the economy piece, further defence cuts are not required.

We would also want to see the following, compromise from The CPL;
-The law does not limit the power of the government to pursue extradition treaties.
-The nation does not impose any tariffs or quotas on imports.
-The exchange rate of the national currency is allowed to float, and the government does not intervene at all.
-The government acts as an investor of last resort, by nationalizing failing industries that provide vital goods or services.
-The government subsidises agriculture based on market demand for the crop being grown.
