Bill: Improvements to Health

Details

Submitted by[?]: Growth Party of Gaduridos (GPG)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 4673

Description[?]:

- Healthcare
Currently, local governments decide about healthcare policies. The Growth Party would like to start introducing a healthcare system throughout the nation. We would like to start by introducing a public healthcare system, while still allowing private clinics. This would allow citizens of Gaduridos to see the benefits of a healthcare system and the government could use this as a trial period before making further changes.

- Gender Reassignment
The Growth Party is a strong advocate for human rights. Choosing your gender identity is a human right. We are proposing that the government fund gender reassignment surgery for people with low incomes. This would allow people of all economic status to have a choice. When citizens are restricted from their human rights and gender expression, they are subject to oppression and this could have a detrimental effect on one's mental health.

- Abortion Funding
The Growth Party is a strong advocate for women's rights. Women have a moral right to choose what to do with their bodies. Everyone should have access to abortion services, that is why we are pushing for the government to provide funding for abortions. If women do not have access to abortions or do not have the required funds, they may resort to methods that cause harm. We must also take into account that some women may not be financially or emotionally ready for a child, and that is their choice. Providing funding for abortions also reduces the number of unwanted children in foster care.

MessageAll of these proposals mean the same thing in essence, the state funding people's private follies. If people want surgery or an abortion then that is their responsibility to pay for, not the responsibility of the Gaduri taxpayers. Politics in this country has become dominate by entitled thinking. Too many politicians think that the state owes them something.

MessagePeople are not “entitled” for not wanting to choose between death or a medical bankruptcy. The LP shows time and time again their hatred for the poor, they don’t even deny it!

MessageGender reassignment and abortion are not matters of life and death. Such nonsensical rhetoric explains the Progressives continuing political decline.

MessageBut everything else is, and abortion can be a matter of life or death. Also, why do you think that gender reassignment surgery should be restricted to the rich?Should poor transgendered people live their entire lives in their uncomfortable gender?

MessageAs I am sure you can see, the current legislation provides funding for abortion in medical emergencies so there is no reason to change this in any way. If someone wants to change their gender then that’s a luxury they need to save and pay for on their own, not expect normal taxpayers to subsidise.

MessageBeing trans isn’t a choice Ms.Xirau.Gender reassignment surgery therefore isn’t a luxury. Also, the term “emergency” is not defined.Obviously, when the woman’s life is in danger is an emergency, but is it an emergency when, for example, a teen wanted to have sex but now is pregnant?

MessageBeing "trans" is not a health problem. Gender reassignment surgery is not a health treatment. Anybody who wants to indulge in this should have to pay for it themselves. If a teen wants to have sex then that's their choice and they should face the consequences. The job of the government is not to molly coddle pregnant teenagers. Actions have consequences. Grow up and live in the real world.

MessageGender dysphoria is a mental health problem, guess how to cure that?Gender reassignment surgery!Something you believe is a luxury when it is a right of all trans people. We all did dumb things as teens, imagine if we still felt the consequences of them today!Teens are not educated enough to make decisions about their body, that’s why they’re not allowed to drink, smoke cigs, and other things an adult can legally do.

MessageHow patronising! I can’t speak for the Progessives but I certainly wasn’t stupid enough to get pregnant as a teenager. The answer to the problem you present of the restrictions we place on teenagers is to lift those restrictions not patronise them further.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
