Bill: Firearms Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Union of Work-Shy Elements
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2066
Description[?]:
We propose this bill and in doing so are offering an opportunity for all parties that previously voted in favour of the Gun Rights Act to reconsider their position on what is a most serious subject with the very mentality of our nation at stake. The Rihannsu Party believes that the Gun Rights Act, which was recently passed by an extremely slim majority, must immediately be repealed. The aforementioned bill we feel, violates the fundamental values that Kundrati political parties have valiantly sought to protect in the past. |

Message | We will support this. We were against the reactionary elements that brought about the change to this policy in the first place, and we will fight hard to see it return to what is proposed here. |

Message | We also support this bill. We can only hope that vigilante militias and organized crime elements have not made bulk purchases during the period that firearms have been for sale. |

Message | Criminals will get weapons anyway, one way or another. We view that police officers should be allowed to carry firearms (pistols and shotguns for regular patrol officers and automatic weapons for SWAT teams, if there is one) , We agree with 1st article though. |

Message | We agree with the National-Bolshevik Union on this one. |

Message | National-Bolshevik Union wrote: “Criminals will get weapons anyway, one way or another.” Would you apply that reasoning to all areas of policy? You could say criminals will acquire illegal drugs whatever the government policy is. So we should then just ignore illegal drug use or even legalise it? You could say murders are going to happen regardless. So you think the government should just turn a blind eye or possibly even encourage murder? The Rihannsu Party doesn’t agree with your theory. National-Bolshevik Union wrote: “We view that police officers should be allowed to carry firearms.” If criminals don’t have access to lethal weapons then consequently the police don’t require armament. That approach is really a lot simpler than allowing gun ownership and then being forced to equip officers with deadly tools. |

Message | Indeed, from a libertarian perspective, why should the state security forces have weapons that the citizens do not? The assumption is that the nation is awash in guns. Our responsibility as legislators is to ensure that such a dangerous, violent state of affairs never develops. |
