Message | Mr. Speaker, Due to the thickness of the reform, we'll lay our arguments article by article so that are positions will seem much clearer. Article 1 - If those independent schools have teachers and personal who work for the community and not for private individuals, then why don't they work for the state? We believe everyone should be equal, have the same chances and belong to the same types of schools. We don't know it, but behind those schools, there is always a will for profit, a will to create schools that are different from the public ones. Article 2 - Homeschooling cannot be correctly regulated, does not allow the children to play with each other. Also, it can favour a certain type of elitism. Article 3 - The poor people have also the right to go to school! I met Angela, who is 19 years old. And she told me her parents can't pay for her tuition because they're not rich enough. These policies are destroying the dreams of young people and have to come to an end. There is money for the bankers, for the traders, for the multinationals so there is also money for our people! Article 4 - The current lessons of political education that are taught are already biased and are showing a vision of the world that is the same as the right and far-right in this parliament. The textbooks never talk about the benefits of communism but always about the supposed anti-democratic communist regimes and never insists on how the right-wing reactionary and imperialist doctrine is destroying the world. These textbooks look like they are made by right-wing politicians. That will change with us. Article 5 - The arguments are always the same as the ones used for the justification of article 1. Private nurseries will be nationalised and will work for the people instead of working for people who are looking for profits with our children. The education is at the core of the communist program and we want a centralised, regulated system that is the fruit of the will of the people. Article 6 - Private schools are like private nurseries: they are looking for profits. We can't really control private schools totally. We are not sure those institutions are promoting social mix instead of class-segregation. We only need secular and national schools. Article 7 - We want to give the same opportunities to everyone and selective schools are a form of oppression. All poor people simply are not dumb but live in poor conditions, are suffocating under the capitalist system and cannot develop their full potential. The children who have bad grades should not be discriminated against but encouraged. It is not their fault if they have bad grades, but the fault of society and the capitalist system that we want to bring down. Unity must prevail. |

Message | Mr Speaker, We support the majority of proposals. The majority of laws should be taken for granted. However, we cannot work with everything, such as the biased political education as well as the proposal on the selection schools. But for the rest we will do everything to implement it. Because we don't agree with Articles 1, 4 and 7 we decided to abstain |
