MessageThe government is not going to wait for debate on this treaty to endorse its proposal.

This Parliament already knows that the CNP will not be in favour of it, as they have very recently introduced a bill which would have been in direct conflict with the treaty's article.

We also feel certain, from the SDP's contribution to the debate on the CNP bill, that they will join with the Alliance Party to make such bills as the CNP's even more difficult to impose upon our nation in the future - once this treaty has been ratified, no national legislation can propose such awful policies again without first withdrawing from this treaty (which requires a two-thirds majority vote to do so).

Random fact: The people in your nation don't like inactive parties. When you often abstain from voting for a bill, they will dislike your party and your visibility to the electorate will decrease significantly. Low visibility will means you are likely to lose seats. So keep in mind: voting Yes or No is always better than Abstaining.

Random quote: "No one today can afford to be innocent, or indulge himself in ignorance of contemporary governments, politics and social orders. The national polities of the modern world maintain their existence by deliberately fostered craving and fear: monstrous protection rackets. The 'free world' has become economically dependent on a fantastic system of stimulation of greed which cannot be fulfilled, sexual desire which cannot be satiated and hatred which has no outlet except against oneself, the persons one is supposed to love, or the revolutionary aspirations of pitiful, poverty-stricken marginal societies like Cuba or Vietnam. The conditions of the Cold War have turned all modern societies - communist included - into vicious distorters of man's true potential." - Gary Snyder
