Bill: State Controlled Liquor Provision
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Worker's Party of Hutori
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: September 4762
Description[?]:
The government should seize all means of liquor sales for the sake of its most vulnerable. Many liquor companies care only for profits and don’t care much for who they’ll affect in the most negative way. If we want to ensure there is little to no exploitation of the vulnerable we must establish a monopoly on the sale of alcohol. Along with it being safer for buyers and away from corruption we would clearly receive a small addition to revenue which we could use elsewhere. |
Proposals

Old value:: Alcoholic beverages may be purchased only from licensed sales outlets, and can only be available to adults.
Current: Alcoholic beverages may be purchased only from licensed sales outlets, and can only be available to adults.

Message | Mr Speaker, This legislation is nothing more than anti-business propeganda from the communists. Hutori holds a high standard that all liquor stores and manufacturers must uphold or face being shut down. Hutori also funds many programs to protect those most vulnerable as well as help those with addictions recover. If the communists want to have the argument on the legality of alcohol in general, I'm more than happy to have that debate. However Mr. Speaker, this legislation is nothing more than an attack on business, especially small businesses who survive on their alcohol sales. Are the communists prepared to put tens of thousands of Hutorians out of work and destroy thousands of small businesses? Jared Houston MP for Glentingham East Leader of the Conservative Party |

Message | The Worker’s Party is aware of the regulations in place but there is no way to fully prove that procedures are being followed to the fullest extent. Those who work at smaller businesses should be compensated along with the fact that those jobs will still be there for them the only difference being the stores themselves will be state run. This bill particularly targets the corrupt nature of large corporations and the implication that this is propaganda is insulting to say the least. This is a preemptive strike against the tendencies of chains mostly to fail their workers and the consumer they claim to protect. |
