MessageWe would much prefer a national system, which would make it easier to compare qualifications against each other and making sure citizens have the same facilities available regardless of where they live.

MessageMoving to a vote. As for the LibDem concerns, the bill does not prevent a national system of research universities from forming. We believe that if the government is to be involved in higher education, it is better for regional bodies to place control closer to the people.
