(This bill was proposed by the minsiter of Environement and Tourism Theo MacGeraghty) It has been proven multiple that the use of chemical pesticide in agriculture was not a efficient way to produce our food. Chemical pesticides, herbicides and fungicides are extremely dangerous for very little increase in production. Their usage poison our food, poison our sea and lake and poison our forest. There are many other ways for farmers that have been proven more effective to protect their crops that are also cheaper and more safe. Let's modernise our farming industry and move away from dangerous pesticide. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, This legislation is an attack on the hardworking farmers who put food on our tables. There is no scientific evidence for a complete ban on chemical pesticides, herbicides and fungicides. We believe the current system of government approval and regulation of chemicals used in farming is the right way to go, and we know we are right because we listen to the experts, both the scientists and the amazing farmers who grow our food. I hope the NPP will do the right thing and withdraw this legislation. Senator Andrew Barlow (Falristan) Member for Carter City Foothills Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party |

Message | Mr. Speaker, When the Deputy Leader of the opposition say he listen to expert and scientists, does he actually mean lobbyists and scientists who work for big chemical pesticide corporations? Because in these days and age, no honest man or women of science could support this useless destruction of our environnement. I have myself visited many crops that use non-chemical pesticide and I saw from my very eyes how lucrative and productive they are. All scientific evidence support that they are better ways to grow food than to use these poison. All data is here for everyone, specifically the Conservative Caucus, to see! Not only are we not withdrawing this proposal, we are moving it up to vote right now. -Theo MacGeraghty Miinister of Environment and Tourism Senator for Sutton Polaris |
