MessageBRP opinion:

1. Of course there is nothing intrinsically to object to in considering the ratification of the proposed treaty.

2. But, we are already signed up to internationally recognised trade and military treaties
eg Union Nations of Terra (with Security Council, World Assemblies etc) & a Trade Association and Economic Pact

3. The proposed treaty contains only one article of ratification, relating to the illegality of slavery.
Again, we have already ratified the International Rejection of Slavery Agreement.
So the treaty's article is completely superfluous to us, and seems rather incongruous in a treaty relating to a trade and military alliance (unless it is attempting to address the issue of trading of slaves, which incidentally the article does not directly prohibit!)

The BRP will not object if this treaty is ratified, as its intentions are good and we should support such ideals. However, the BRP has repeatedly in the past appealed to Parliament not to overburden and over-complicate the set of treaties to which we belong, as they do require revisiting from time to time.
