Message | Mr Speaker, Due to the Conservatives shocking lack of regard to it’s most vulnerable citizens, especially the ones using our benefit system. This bill hopes to change that fact and makes the life’s of our citizens using benefits happy and hopefully it’s enough for them to get back on their feet. Thomas Bench. Leader of the LAP |

Message | Mr Speaker, I'm sorry but what the Leader of the LAP just said is simply untrue. Our government has decreased or removed taxes on the lowest earning Hutorians twice. We also supported the NPP and approved funding for their strategy to fight homelessness. We know what our record is, and so do Hutorians. To this legislation specifically Mr. Speaker, how many people exactly would be eligible for this program? Further, the vague wording of this bill leaves me to assume this would guarentee that every Hutorian earns at least the minimum wage in this country each year, approximately 17,000 Lira, correct? If so, this program could cost in the hundreds of billions. I will also remind the members opposite, that under the Funded Mandates Act of 4756, this program cannot be implemented until the Ministry of Finance and the Senate approve the funding, and as this bill is written, I'm afraid Mr. Speaker I cannot in good conscience approve the funding.
