Message | Mr. Speaker, The Worker's League of Hutori has brought forth this bill in response to an issue that has been brought to our attention by some of our affiliate unions. Companies have been favoring foreign workers over our own workers in terms of employment. These foreign workers generally are willing to work for less pay, work longer hours, and with fewer benefits. Though we are all for international cooperation and we support workers abroad, we are first and foremost representatives of our own citizens and we will not let our own people go homeless for a tycoon's bottom-line. Hon. Sarah Phillips Senator for Wrightstown Centre Minister for Trade and Industry |
