Details

Voting deadline: April 2222
Description[?]:
Our nation is lucky that we have assurances from other countries that they will never attack. Our neutrality should allow us to head the world aid missions to other countries who aren't as fortunate as ourselves. This is our chance to build a name for Keymon as not only the most peaceful nation, from a global point of view anyway, but the most generous nation on Terra. Theirry 'Pimp' Henry, DPP Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs |

Message | "We have opposed this consistently for reasons ranging from logical to financial. First, our population is roughly 1% of that of most other nations. Our income is also 1% of their own. Who exactly do you suggest we aid? We must offer aid from a competitive advantage, or we will merely be handing our resources to rich nations for no reason at all. Second, we have a history of sensibly offering aid. Not as much as ten years ago, an ecological disaster struck one of our friends and neighbors. We immediately proposed a 10 million KED increase to the budget for the foreign ministry as an amendment to send the nation aid. It passed, and the nation expressed its eternal gratitude. We then cut our budget back the next year. 10 million KED is a drop in the bucket for most other nations, but for us it was 5% of the entire national budget. Five percent! They knew it was not much, but they thanked us greatly for what we could afford to offer. This is the sensible way to do things. Sending money overseas to our rich neighbors in high amounts is not the sensible way to do things." -- Rufio Carmichael, Director General |
