Description[?]:
May Danseon protect our working people! May Bidar be merciful towards them! Currently trade unions are divided into many smaller ones run by private initiatives. Since the socialist society based on mutual love has been implemented there is no need anymore for that. It would be better to connect the trade unions into one big trade union federation under the leadership of the socialist parties in our country. The trade union membership will stay voluntarily. The purpose will only be to create one big and strong United Trade Union Federation of Dankuk for the entire working class of our nation. The workers have the true power! Message | But if the government owns the unions, there's potential for abuse of power and neutering of organization. Independent unions can fight for their own rights and interests; whereas a mass government-owned one could be less motivated to. The unions already push against bureaucratic paperwork and opportunistic leadership; there doesn't need to be more layers of command. In regards to the current state of labor; it is true that organization and influence has been significantly lowered since the 50s. We lost roughly half of our membership and there was an explosion of new organizations that splintered and competed with one another. However; the One Big Union concept is far from dead, and there are still groups out there - including ours, of course - that are strongly organized and span over multiple fields and trades. Also; as this is a multi-party republic it's interesting that there would exist "one big trade union federation under the leadership of the socialist parties in our country". While we believe in industrial democracy and radical unionism; not every labor movement in Dankuk fits the socialist program, and trying to pigeonhole them into it would be disingenuous. No offense; but we oppose this bill for the potential to take away the defiant fighting voice of labor. The state owns the means of production; but that doesn't leave it free from workers' criticism.
