Message | Mr. Speaker, The Liberal Party is against this legislation. This will put a heavy weight on those businesses which sell these "luxury goods" while those who can afford them will be deprived of their hard-earned money. The government should instead encourage the creation of new businesses. Simon Sambrook, MP. |
Date | 22:34:40, August 25, 2021 CET | From | White Rose | To | Debating the VAT Abolition Act 4987 |
Message | Mr Speaker, The former Prime Minister is wrong in his argument and assessment. This will not impact businesses as it will mean 3 things: the cost of a good goes up with no impact on the business directly, the abolition of the essential rate will free up more disposable income for families, and those who can afford luxuries en masse, can afford 12%. We will encourage new businesses with the Corporation Tax cut. Duke Michael Weston |
