| These are the demands that the NLPP makes to a coalition (whether a Popular Front or Weston cabinet): Non-negotiables: - Any adult citizen can serve in the military, discrimination for racial or religious reasons is prohibited. - Prisoners of war must be treated well, according to internationally-accepted standards. - The government introduces, and actively enforces, food standards provisions.* - Teachers are forbidden from striking children and may only use non-contact discipline (detention, expulsion etc). - Segregation is illegal in all educational institutions.* - All sexually implicit actions are illegal in public. * These can be changed via ducal legislation. General, not required: - The government has some involvement in the ownership and operation of airports, but leaves a role for the private sector too.* - Government subsidies are provided for research and generation of energy through renewable sources. - The State owns and operates a national TOC, alongside private TOCs. - Polygamous marriages are accorded equal recognition to monogamous marriages. - The confidentiality of letters is inviolable, but the justice dept. can violate it in extreme situations. - The government establishes fishing quotas. OR The fishing industry is nationalised, and the government sets production levels. |
