Message | The goal is to reduce the size of the workforce to ensure a shortage of workers and therefore further strengthen the hand of the worker against the employer. Adding children to the workforce necessarily relieves this upward pressure on wages. We feel NSP provides new workers with enough work experience, and fail to see what regulations can be added to child labor provisions to prevent them from being in service of the demands of capital: even if they are treated exactly equal to an adult worker, they will still be used as leverage against workers who require employment to feed their families. |
