MessageMr. Speaker,

We argue that preventing government figures from wearing religious symbols whilst engaging in their duties does not equate to government scrutiny over religion, and we oppose this bill in order to support the strong division between church and state.

MessageMr Speaker,

The current law gives the government an active role in religion and that is wrong.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The current law does not give the government an active role in religion. It keeps religion from having an active role in government. As such, we will continue to oppose this bill.

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass.
