| The Recent party congress (June 5123) was very eventful for the DR. A new party leader was chosen which means that Kate Livington will not be taking over after Palmer. Kate Livington took the decisions herself to resign a few weeks before the congress. Centre-right candidate David Spencer, former secretary fo foreign affairs, will now be leading the party. David Spencer joined the party when it was still called the Conservative party in 5105 and has since climbed the political ladder. When many conservatives left in 5110 (When the party changed its name to the Reform Party) he stayed and represented the voters who still liked the strong leadership and hosian values that were important to the party. Spencer is credited for his work in strenghtening foreign relations and upholding the parties conservative stance on abortion. He is most known for his job as the foreign secretary and for being strongly opposed to Palmer. David Spencer is the new leader of the Democratic Reformists! - National Review |
