Bill: The Neighborhood Protection Bill
Details
Submitted by[?]: Drake Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2232
Description[?]:
Private citizens have the right to build a fence on their property, so what is wrong with being able to build a fence around an entire community of private properties. The Drake Party is proposing that we lift the ban on gated communities. Those who wish to do so should have the option of protecting their possesions and families through the use of gates. A person should have the right to do as they wish with their property, and gates hurt no one except for criminals. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The government's policy concerning gated communities.
Old value:: No gated communities are allowed.
Current: No gated communities are allowed.
Proposed: The private sector can set up gated communities.

Message | I have to seriously disagree with you on the idea that gates hurt no one but criminals, but I also feel obligated to respect peoples' rights gate themselves. Although my party will strongly urge not creating gated communities, we will support this bill. |

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass. |
