Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The lyrics of the national anthem.
Old value:: None
Current:
O'er azure skies, And emerald plains, Where freedom and justice prevail! With courage and strength, We'll fight to the end, For liberty in our land! From underneath the sky, From sea to sea, To city to city, Our banner raises high, For O'er the dark clouds, Nothing can remove the light on which Our nation stands! For child to child, And parent to parent, We fight to withstand, Those clouds O'er beyond, So we may have peace in our land! |
Proposed:
Peace to thee, our home land, O home land of ours. Sweet is thy existence, Sweet is thy beauty, Around thee we gather As one people, As one nation, For peace, justice and liberty. Beloved Hutori, may peace bless thee ever and ever. |

Message | Arise ye starvelings [or workers] from your slumbers Arise ye criminals of want For reason in revolt now thunders and at last ends the age of cant. Now away with all your superstitions Servile masses arise, arise! We'll change forthwith [or henceforth] the old conditions And spurn the dust to win the prize. CHORUS Then come comrades rally And the last fight let us face The Internationale Unites the human race. (repeat). We peasants, artisans and others, Enrolled amongst the sons of toil Let's claim the earth henceforth for brothers Drive the indolent from the soil. On our flesh for too long has fed the raven We've too long been the vultures prey. But now farewell to spirit craven The dawn brings in a brighter day. CHORUS No saviour from on high delivers No trust we have in prince or peer Our own right hand the chains must shiver Chains of hatred, greed and fear. Ere the thieves will out with their booty And to all give a happier lot. Each at his forge must do his duty And strike the iron while its hot. CHORUS |

Date | 19:26:55, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Kellarly Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | For starters, underneath the radient sun is a blatent lie, look where we are, at the top end of the world surrounded by a small land mass with two coasts, its not good weather here. By the looks of this parliment, we aren't working hand in hand. On those two points alone someone could sue for false advirtising. In anycase, its not any better than mine so... Rhyming is over rated. Even RRP agrees with me :D |
Date | 19:28:34, June 21, 2005 CET | From | First Socialist Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | You forget, we are a flat square world... Anyway, I would rather the ferret song than yours! And I don't see RRP not liking mine... besides, if you want to change a line or two, go ahead. |
Date | 19:32:28, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Kellarly Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | Oh no not another flat earth believer... *Takes the entire SP out on a day trip to the top of a mountain fro which they can see the cureture of the planet" Round world, varying weather, capiche? Well if you feel so much about it pass this one then repeal it... OOC: We'll call it the SP song with the lyrics "I've got a Goodwin up my nose" |
Date | 19:51:22, June 21, 2005 CET | From | First Socialist Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | Nup, not gonna pass it ... Besides, the world IS flat. |
Date | 21:32:44, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Christian Liberal Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | Let's pass it now and change it later. It doesn' look like a song to me, but that could be because it's written in continuous prose. SP, your version is very clever - well done. |
Date | 23:37:08, June 21, 2005 CET | From | Kellarly Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | OOC: Modified version of the national anthem of some nation, i got it off a google search. IC: Nice to see that people vote against it yet don't present anything better, except, maybe, the SP. OOC: And since when is the world flat? |
Date | 02:59:06, June 22, 2005 CET | From | First Socialist Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | No, don't pass it now, and I will propose it again after. |
Date | 04:06:35, June 22, 2005 CET | From | Federal Technocrats | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | Twas' the great Hutori, In northern frozen wastes, Who the formed the vibrant nation, To live and grow post hast, We free peoples, Of this north land, With knowledge and wisdom, To pass on in hand. |
Date | 04:08:18, June 22, 2005 CET | From | Federal Technocrats | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | Anyway, I do think the current proposal sounds more like a soothing nursery rhyme than rouser of heroic patriotism. |
Date | 05:34:47, June 22, 2005 CET | From | Sanctaphrax Party (Mod) | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | Until something better comes up, this is backed. |

Message | Do you think mine is better? |

Message | We will follow the Militant Tendency's lead on this proposal. |
Date | 09:49:35, June 22, 2005 CET | From | Communist Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | Also, you can't have a national anthem without politics. This proposal, in fact, makes several political statements and more quasi-political statements. |
Date | 12:32:16, June 22, 2005 CET | From | Kellarly Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | Well you just be thankful that i edited it for all mention of religion and a few other things... |
Date | 12:50:46, June 22, 2005 CET | From | Kellarly Party | To | Debating the The National Anthem |
Message | FT: Well my thoughts on patriotism differ slightly to the norm, so in my case, we think it sounds pretty decent. Still, this will pass at this rate, thanks to those who supported it, we'll see how the other proposals do. Even if this gets sung once we shall be happy that we made a difference. |
